User testing 3 – Mehmet Vardal

So for this user testing i decided to ask for feedback and if people enjoyed playing my game.

  • From the feedback i received i need to work on parts of my project such as the models for the NPC,teleported and the new house that i am adding.I also need to make the monsters a little more aggressive.I also need to make the goal of my game clear by providing instructions in some type of menu.I also need to work on some bug fixes so the level feels smoother and engaging to those who play.

UserTesting 2

My apologizes if the second version of this game didn’t work . I’ve updated the build for the next verision

Devlog- Spring horror

During spring break I was able to finish or find the missing 3D models for my first level. Also, after fooling around and playing with the numbers, the throwing command resulted in a brutal and violent shooting of office supplies, which led me to create a second level where the player will be processed, not by HR anymore, but by the police for a murder attempt.

Here the police and the jail

Nevertheless, fooling around with the game also caused an error that broke the game for almost a week, a period during which I made no progress at all!

DevLog 9

I added a Portal and made a requirement to have all 3 coins to be able to use it, exporting problems fixed, portal bugs fixed and checkpoints coming soon.

Updates: Dev Blog 8

Some updates to the terrain of the levels (1 & 3). Added portal in between levels and should work. I also added User Testing Form (part 2) both here and on Itch.io.

User Testing part 3 will be uploaded soon.

Dev Log 7!

Hm. Getting a sense of Deja Vu here. Almost like I just did one of these. Well anyways, we’ve got some big news at Astral Temple INC!

First things first, it turns out that mysterious box? It leads DEEPER into the temple. It doesn’t exactly look like it, but this new area is probably just a little shy.

It’s very roomy! A little more dangerous too……but there’s also more strawberries! I wonder if they mean anything? Oh and on more important matters, there’s this weird mace/whip looking thing in the hallway. Surely it’s not important……..right?

(Well I mean it is. I spent the time modeling the thing so if it isn’t there’s a future version of me that’s angry as all hell.)

Dev Log 6!

So it’s time to play a little bit of catch up. The Astral Temple Finally decided to major in Graphic Design! It made an absolutely stellar Main Menu, with both a Start and Quit button! (Don’t make fun of it, it’s the temples passion and hopefully we can swap it out with an ACTUAL title screen)

In other news, we talked to the strawberries and both agreed that being a little genetically modified to be larger than an actual person was kinda creepy. They’ve shrunk by about 40%, and are now cuter than before!

Finally, the drop into the ENDLESS VOID at the end, is now just a mysteriously blank box….. None of us know how It got there, and frankly none of us want to ask it to leave.

This was supposed to be sent out sooner, but I was silly and forgot so there’s gonna be one immediately after this :3

Dev Log 8

New Features Added:

  1. Added a launcher type platform that launches player into the air
  2. Added an end goal to reach and a portal to take player to next level
  3. Added new movement abilities: sprint, double jump, air dash
  4. Added enemy ability to push player when it collides with player.

Dev log 12

Improved the starting menu

Added some new things into my world environment such as

  • Shack behind the main house containing a collectible money case
  • Fences around the houses
  • A new building in work of progress

User testing Round 2

After expanding my game Added sound effects and created a UI the second user test was focused on how did those elements effected the user experience.

Related to the stats the audio files can be improved as 33,3% of the players didn’t like the music.

The next step in the game is to include portal to posterior levels and checkpoints, also make a way to show the instructions which are very intuitive “Collect the Coins & Don’t Fall”.
