The Joneses

1- Would you categorize the way the Jones family lives as personal selling? Why or why not?

Although the Joneses were personally interacting with the target audience, they did not make any direct sales they were living advertisement simply there to influence acquaintances into purchasing their client’s products

2- What similarities do you see between the sales tactics the Jones family employs and the marketing tactics of some of your favorite brands? Give an example.

The joneses and my favorite brands seek to draw you in by associating their product with                                                                                          good looking, successful people, because they know their customers want to be associate with good looks and success.

3- Based on what you read in the course materials and what you observed in this movie, do you think the way products are marketed in this movie is ethical?

I don’t believe the joneses can be considered ethical simply because the whole strategy is       based on lying to the targeted audience. Made evident by the movie setting such a high          bar for consumers to try to mimic, may yield unintended and harmful consequences.

4-How would you feel if you were friends with someone in the Jones family before you found out their secret? What about afterward?

At the end of the day, they were just working. Having people like the jones around me won’t affect me at all, because I’m not a follower is not my personality. But I can see other people robbing banks and doing all kinds of illegal stuff to compete with people like the Jones family. ”sad”.

Unit 11 – Place

Module 11 – Place

1-For the first example, what were the main reasons that the firm reversed their decision and returned to their initial channel mix?

The main reason for reversing their decision and returning to their initial channel mix was not getting the real worth for their products by selling to such discount stores. The company feared losing its product’s integrity and not making much profit.

2- Do you agree with their decision?

I agree with their final decision because there was no benefit to expanding their channels and offering their product at a discount. Doing so would have resulted in low margins and compromised integrity.

3- In the second example, do you agree with their choice of channel for their new watches? Why?

No, I do not agree with this choice of channel as introducing a completely new brand name in their own stores will help in reducing the integrity of the brand and decrease sales. Loyal customers can also lose their trust in the brand.

4- Do you think that most of their existing jewelry stores will be willing to stick and sell these new watches?

Most of their existing jewelry stores will not be willing to stock and sell these new watches as this will affect the sales of expensive watches and will ruin their store reputation of being a store for luxurious watches

5- What other channels (retailers) should they also consider?

The company may consider promoting its new brand in discounted stores which fetch more customers who are price sensitive. They can also sell their watches to wholesale retailers.

product concepts

After watching the four pitches on Shark Tank Season 13-episode 3, One pitch stood out among four great pitches not only because of how ingenious the product was but its potential for a real impact environmentally.

I chose this product not only for its obvious contribution to saving our planet, but the potential Dinesh is sitting on because up toil now he has only been dealing b2b with no marketing directly to consumers. With some brilliant marketing I feel his product can easily become a household name.

Secondly it is quite ingenious. In addition, the sharks seem to enjoy the flavored edible and immediately they recognized the products potential.

They offer edible flavored utensils such as spoons, knives, sporks, and straws. The flavors are Subtle, and the straw is flavorless so as not to interfere with the flavor of the food. These utensils can last up to more than 20 minutes in hot soup and about an hour in Ice cream then you can eat it after, which is very practical. The cutlery costs are significantly higher than its plastic counterparts at 15 cents apiece.

The gap that this product fills is, it is a green alternative to single use plastic utensils. Eatable utensils reduce the amount of plastics in our Landfills. Incredible eats is on a mission to save the planet by reinvent in the way we view our single use cutlery.

replacing all plastic utensils with Incredible eats is a revolutionary product but suffers from limiting their sales to B2B and utilizing zero marketing resulting in poor sales, and total revenue at a disappointing $175k in sales. By implementing some smart marketing strategies and direct marketing to consumers I feel the sky is the limit for this product.

Consumer Decision Making

I needed an authentic Italian Margherita pizza, so I need to find a good Italian Pizzeria that offers delivery, as I am new to Salt Lake City and still unfamiliar with the neighborhood.

I will start by searching for the best Margherita pizza in Salk Lake City. Since I’m not from here I will have to ask Google.  After searching I found two options the first was Buca di Beppo & second Settebello pizzeria napolitana. I didn’t like the reviews of Buca di Beppo, they don’t have a wood oven and the pizza was overpriced.

Then I typed best pizza near me now. And an interesting article came out. ‘’the 10 best Italian Pizza in Salk Lake city’’. After I read the article, I found the 1 pizza in Salt Lake City. I was very convinced but when it comes to food, I need to make sure the place is quite hygienic, the food is tasty, price, and delivery is a must.

When I need to find food, I always read the reviews to verify how accurate is this restaurant. In this case I used google reviews.  They have 4.5 Start & 2,359 reviews on google.

‘’ Jenn Rephraseses ‘’ 5 starts

Seriously, the BEST gluten free pizza!  Their crust is puffy, stretchy, slightly sweet, wood-fired, and delicious!  We’ve been dreaming about going back!  We also LOVED the bacon wrapped dates– amazing!  And the best part is just can just walk next door to get legit gelato…best we’ve had since we were in Germany/Italy!  Highly recommend this restaurant– their food and service are awesome!

’’Ana ‘’ 4.5 stars

Settebello has the best Margherita pizza in Utah. Their tomato sauce is perfect, and the Margherita Doc is made with delicious burrata mozzarella. The pizza crust is perfectly thin and with a very nice flavor.

I made my decision based on the article and the above reviews. I decided to go with Grubhub where I ordered a Margherita pizza for the price of 19 dollars. At ‘’Settebello Pizzeria Napolitano.”

After ordering my margherita pizza, it was the best pizza I ever tried it was super-hot, crunchy and the mozzarella cheese was super fresh, not to mention the delicious tomato sauce had a taste of fresh basil. Settebello was better than most pizza that I had tried in the past.

Toyota also partner with the electrochemical society (EGS) to encourage young professors and scholars to pursue research in green energy technology that may promote the development of next generation vehicles capable of utilizing alternative fuels

Toyota is also using less and less water every year. They’re finding more ways to conserve, especially in their manufacturing processes. Each year, they use fewer and fewer gallons to produce a vehicle, which is important in water stressed areas, such as California, Texas, and Mexico.

But this isn’t all Toyota archives Top 10 ranking for diversity. Here are some of the reasons why Toyota is rated a top company for diversity:

  1. the company values the importance of a diverse workforce.
