After moving to Salt Lake City I decided to explore the neighborhood and go out to eat, since there were many Italian restaurants I made a list of them to help me look for a formal place that I could try something new in. Stanza Italian Bistro is a classy place in which you can dine in, the staff wears masks and follow health and safety procedures. Michelangelo’s On Main is a casual pizza place. Lastly, Olive Garden also has health and safety protocol, is family-friendly, and offer no-contact delivery. The one that stood out to me the most was Stanza Italian Bistro (rating:4.4; $$$) so I went on Yelp and looked at their reviews and images customers had uploaded, I could see that people were satisfied with the excellent quality and quantity of the food and service of the place.
At the restaurant I chose Arancini which was Italian sausage, mozzarella, Arborio rice, pecorino, pesto, and chiffon. Next, I ordered a Tomato Basil Soup which was thick and creamy. I could taste all of the ingredients, the food was very flavorful and service was great, the staff was kind and welcoming. The atmosphere was very relaxed, had a spacious lounge, bar, and a nice scenic view outside.
I would definitely come back to try their Rigatoni Fra Diavolo with shrimp(spicy) since this plate was also highly recommended in the reviews. “One of my new fav pasta in the whole Valley…” -Megan S.

You Can Now Invest In The Planet While Online Shopping With The Shop App
Download the app today and start planting trees with every online purchase you make! Each time you check out with Shop Pay, we will calculate the carbon dioxide emitted from the delivery of your order and match that to the number of trees needed to plant. This is estimated based on transportation method, package weight, and delivery distance.
We partnered with WeForest and so far have been able to restore 1,000 hectares of mangroves, which will “increase forest cover, boost fish stocks, and shellfish populations, as well as create sustainable harvesting opportunities that will provide regular incomes to the local fishing communities in Senegal, Africa.” These mangroves are expected to absorb 2219,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide offsetting CO2 produced by deliveries made in 2021 and 2022.

1. For the first example, what were the main reasons that the firm reversed their decision and returned to their initial channel mix?
The main reasons why the firm reversed their decision and returned to their initial channel mix was because they were not making a profit off of expanding their marketplace to discount stores, therefore affecting the brand’s image that could have changed their customer’s perspective on the brand overall, for example, quality.
2. Do you agree with their decision?
I agree with their decision because although they were making additional sales from the discount stores it was not enough for them to be profitable, and the brand could have a certain aesthetic they want their company to represent/match, thus by selling their items at discount stores they were concerned with the brand’s image as well.
3. In the second example, do you agree with their choice of channel for their new watches? Why?
I disagree with their choice of channel for their new watches because the jewelry stores and their customers most likely expect good quality products, and not cheaply made. They should distribute to a better marketplace that sells more affordable products.
4. Do you think that most of their existing jewelry stores will be willing to stick and sell these new watches?
I think their existing jewelry stores will not be willing to stick and sell the new watches because the stores could have a different target audience. Therefore, the jewelry stores may not make a profit off of the cheap watches versus the already well-known Swiss watches.
5. What other channels (retailers) should they also consider?
They should consider retailers who have similar target audiences. The manufacturers are more likely to be profitable by expanding their marketplaces at places like discount stores since customers would be more willing to buy the products.
Product Concepts
The pitch that impacted me the most was by Dinesh Tadepalli and his company Incredible Eats. Dinesh’s mission is to decrease the use of plastic cutlery by replacing them with entirely edible utensils, from spoons to sporks, straws, and even chopsticks! Customers should want to buy this product for its convenience and must have it because purchasing these products is essentially helping save the planet. Dinesh has a vision that he is passionate about, and has accomplished to replace one million plastic utensils so far. With better packaging that emphasizes buying this product will reduce the use of plastic, and is eco-friendly, he will be able to sell it to not only restaurant chains but also make it more accessible to the public, like in markets and groceries.
Seventh Generation Ethics
Seventh Generation, founded in 1988, Burlington Vermont, is a company that sells eco-friendly personal care products. Their mission is to create a healthier and more sustainable world for the future. Not only are their products both eco-friendly and cruelty-free (meaning they only use plant-based materials over petroleum decreasing carbon footprint) but they actively participate and spread awareness on the impacts of climate change, and how it is affecting our communities and youth. Seventh Generation has reinforced their zero waste goal by removing “individual wastebaskets and replaced it with a recycling system that has a place for everything from a yogurt cup to a plastic bag. We have filtered water in the building and most people use reusable water bottles or glass instead of buying a one-use plastic bottle. To help foster a vibrant, welcoming workplace, we’re also a dog-friendly office.” Maureen Usifer stated as one of the Chief Financial Officers in a Q&A. Furthermore, Seventh Generation’s 2025 goals include operating with 100% renewable energy fully committing to sourcing all-natural or recycled materials. It also plans to use solely zero-waste packaging and increase internal diversity. I believe that Seventh Generation is an amazing example of what a sustainable eco-friendly company is, as a customer I feel like their prices are affordable and you can find their products at local stores like Target, Walmart, and Amazon.
