LIN 100 Positionality Essay
(Final for sections 160W and 180W, Spring 2024)
For your final in LIN 100, you are asked to write a positionality essay in which you examine your personal relationship to one of the linguistic phenomena we have discussed in class. The goal of this assignment is for you to demonstrate how these linguistic phenomena manifest themselves in real lived experiences.
Along with describing your personal relationhip with the phenomenon you are writing about, you are required to incorporate at least one piece of scholarly writing that deals with the topic. (Please be sure to cite both in -text and in a separate works-cited page. Please use APA formatting).
Essays should be 3-4 pages in length. For the due date, please consult the schedule of your particular section and, as always, please do not hesitate to ask questions if you have them.
