Immigrant families can have an impact on their child’s education, it can be positive or negative. It’s important to know that immigrant families may face difficult  challenges with the education system in a new country. With proper support and resources, they can also play a huge role in their child’s academic success, by engaging in their child’s education, collaborating with teachers and other school staff. If families are not fully aware of the importance of education or struggle with language or cultural differences, it can affect their child’s educational journey. It’s important  to provide support and resources to help immigrant families navigate these challenges and ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed academically.

Immigrant families can be supported by having language support, providing language assistance, such as translators, or interpreters, it can help communication issues  between families and educators. Cultural Sensitivity is another important thing that a parent needs because Creating an inclusive environment in schools can make immigrant families feel valued and respected.Another support they might want to get is being able to work with is their community. Parent and teacher always have to keep in contact to be able to share updates on a child’s progress.

When a parent  has to go through a language barrier situation with their child’s teacher, they may feel frustration, helplessness, or isolation. It can be challenging for a parent to fully understand their child’s education without clear communication.
