Immigrant families affecting their child’s education. Immigrant families aren’t fully aware that they may be affecting their child’s education. They can either affect their child’s education in a positive way or in a negative way.

What is the problem? How are children being affected?

Many families that come from a different country don’t speak the language that is spoken at school, where their kids are now getting their education. Due to the language barrier, it can cause kids to fall behind. when families cant communicate with their child’s they wont be fully aware of their kids progress at school. Families who aren’t aware of their child’s education progress wont be able to help their child show the best they got. This is an issue because this will affect the children in a long term.

Children are being affected by this because they fall behind, when parents aren’t aware of the child’s homework and school participation, it gives the child the idea that the parents do not care if they fail the class or not. Which causes the kids to not do homework, not give in report cards and to not talk about their school work at home. This can start becoming a habit, which can affect them later on at work and at college, if they continue their education.
