WHY IS THE UNPOPULARITY OF SELF CHECKOUT GROWING AT SUPERMARKETS IN THE CITY OF ORLANDO?
I have been living in the City of Orlando for 2 years. There are 3 supermarkets in my neighborhood and 2 of them have a self check out system. Of the 100% of the times that I go to the supermarket, 80% of the time I am forced to use the self check out system. Of that 80%, 70% of the time I have problems with the system and I feel that it takes me the same or longer than when using the original check out system. I asked myself if I was the only one who felt dissatisfied with the system so I surveyed the consumers of these 3 supermarkets and 8 out of 10 consumers have problems with the self check out system. So I started to investigate the main problems that the system has and how to solve them. So consumers can have a better experience and also be a beneficiary for supermarkets.
