Video | Disparities in Maternal Mortality

In this video, Dr. Doee Kitessa discusses how in the United States, Black women are disproportionately more likely to die from complications from pregnancy and childbirth and receive worse maternal care. For in-person classes, I ask students to generate hypotheses as to why this is the case, we have a short discussion, and then I play this interview. For online classes, I post this interview as a supplementary video in the prenatal development module.
