Hollis F. Glaser, Ph.D.

I’m a Professor in the Speech, Communications and Theatre Arts Department.  My area of expertise is organizational communication and small group communication.  However, I study both from a feminist perspective and learned from Cheris Kramerae, an old-guard feminist who wrote “The Feminist Dictionary” and was a founder of “Muted Group Theory.”  I’m excited to teach this class and look forward to learning with all of you.

The Gender and Women’s Studies major was created by Brianne Waychoff (among others).  She also created this class.  I’m using her syllabus and structure (for the most part).  Brianne passed in July 2022, but her ideas and spirit is very much in this class and how I’m teaching it.  Please read about her below.  She was awesome and fun and way smart.
