Summary

Think about your relationship to capitalism in the United States.

It is essential to me to care for the most women, the 70% Dalia Gabrial talks about. Celebrities and politicians are symbolic for women working 40 ir 50 hours a week. Aren't they showing the real proof of how the system work? NOt the few but the many who work so hard and keep this system going. When we see strikes of people who are unemployed we see the treat of how without them life will stop. Recently overworked nurses went to protest because they were overworked and didn't have enough support. I am sure nurses all over the word work extremely hard and carry physical and emotional responsibility. Are they always rewarded with salary, time off ?

I stay in a community full of women because I feel more secure and comfortable. My boss has been a woman. I work for her for the past 13 years. I love my girlfriends and care to keep good relationships and have good communication with women. I feel dominated in men workplace and business environment
. I am an archivist in a woman's organization.

Have you been successful in the marketplace? Why or why not?
I was successful in small jobs. I've never got an opportunity for a big high, paid job because I lack the right diploma and my emigrant status. I don't have much experience because of my lack of formal education.

What are your goals for your career? Are you confident you will reach those goals?
I am not confident about my goals, but I have been passionate and persistent for years with what I do and why. I work in the noncommercial photography field.
I worked as a photographer for reporters, and because I am a single mom, I could not do that. I could not get up at 4 am to go where I was told. I could not afford a good camera. I don't like the press work anyway. The paparazzi word is disgusting !

Finally, what would a feminist economy look like so that nobody is exploited?

Gender mainstreaming is very important. As the recent #metoo movement started, a visible change in the approaching woman can have, we should look deeper at the entire patriarchal structure that built the system. Everyone is working in life and should be protected. We see the caste system in India and how it can oppress people.Maybe we also have our boxes where we cant get out of. Psychologically women aren't confident often and think they can clean, babysit and be a waitress to start working while in college. Mothers and fathers teach women to work hard in small jobs so that when they meet a big boss, they will be very humble and will not ask for a better salary and better work conditions. It takes years to rebel! It takes years to learn your worth.
Education is crucial now, and women should be confident and persistent in studying and learning new things. That gives confidence and understanding to ask for a better salary, which should be public! We should know how many men do the same work as I do.
Corporate social responsibility should be investigated like IRS comes to check your paperwork. Equality can be measured if done properly, and people should be punished for lack of ethics.

Interesting Kat! (I finally saw your post.) I love that you’re in a community of women where you feel safe. And I love that you’re bringing up corporate responsibility in a feminist economy. I think that’s exactly right, that it can’t just be about giving women raises or make them bosses; corporate structures need to change too.
