I’m from the vibrant colors of Santo Domingo,
where the sun kisses the ocean and the streets hum with life.
I’m from the sound of merengue that dances in the air,
and the sweet scent of mangos ripening under a bright blue sky.

I’m from the laughter of cousins, running wild through the campos,
the warmth of family gatherings, where stories weave through time.
I’m from the rich taste of sancocho simmering on the stove,
and the sweet notes of bachata that pull at my heartstrings.

I’m from the rolling hills of the Cibao,
where the tobacco leaves whisper secrets to the breeze,
and the waves crash against the shores of Punta Cana,
a paradise painted with golden sun and turquoise seas.

I’m from the traditions passed down through generations,
the prayers whispered at dusk, the resilience in our souls.
I’m from the warmth of community, where neighbors become family,
and every shared meal is a bond that forever holds.

I’m from the nights filled with stars, sparkling like dreams,
and the voices of my ancestors guiding me along the way.
In every heartbeat, I carry the spirit of my land,
      a tapestry of culture, a love I can’t unbind
