Community: BMCC Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice

Criminology and Criminal Justice OpenLab Community

Welcome to the CRJ Department’s online space for students, faculty, and staff. Here we explore the complex social, economic, and political issues shaping crime and justice today. Our community connects you to courses, events, research, and experiential learning opportunities, all grounded in a multidisciplinary study of criminal behavior, the justice system, and society’s responses to crime.

We focus on building a solid foundation in criminological theory and critical analysis. Through your engagement here, you’ll:

– Understand the roles of policing, courts, and corrections
– Examine theories of offending, victimization, and prevention
– Critically analyze social responses to crime and disparities in the system
– Develop research skills to interpret and apply criminal justice knowledge

Join the conversation and help shape a more informed and just future.
