Heya!
My name’s Sebastian, I’m 20, they/he.
I’m an Animation Major, I’ve too this class during the 2020 Fall Term but had to drop it due to the pandemic.

My favorited animated movie would be Fantastic Mister Fox. I’m a major fan of Wes Anderson’s cinematography and have great respect for the people that are patient enough to work with stop motion animation. This respect extends to Kubo, Coraline, and Paranorman as well. But for 2D Animated movies, a lot of Ghibli films are among my top ten– Howl’s Moving Castle being my first Ghibli Movie.

As for my favorite animated show, I’m going to be biased towards the 2018 TMNT, 2010 Scooby Doo, and Netflix’s Castlevania. 2018’s TMNT was incredibly well animated and upgraded the designs of the cast, 2010’s Scooby Doo’s art style was unique to me and would later be implemented to Ben 10 Omniverse, and Netflix Castlevania’s movement for combat scenes were one of a kind before the release of Blood of Zeus & the 2021 Masters of the Universe.

I’m still pretty new to using Adobe Animate, I mostly animate with ProCreate. If you’re interested in playing D&D w/ me though!! 😀 Don’t be afraid to ask.

Hi.
My name is Melanie Velastegui.

My major is animation and motion graphics.

I can’t choose one so I will go with Studio Ghibli movies in general. I like the character designs (specially Howl from Howls Moving Castle). The aesthetic of the movies, the landscapes and structures in them I just love them.

Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura. The same as before, the character design is what I like the most, that and the fact that I love magical girls and sparkles.

Hey everyone!
My name is Jannio (pronounced Johnny-O).

My major is Video Arts & Technology

My favorite animated movie would have to be Coco. I love this film because of the emotion and thought put into it. Being Latino, I relate to the the protagonist, striving to be something that isn’t exactly what your family might want from you, and does not understand why you love what you love. Something that I feel is synonymous with growing up in a Latino household, but not exclusive to the culture.

My favorite animated show is Hey Arnold! Growing up and watching the show was sort of like a mirror to my upbringing; living in a building with different types of neighbors, playing all around my neighborhood with friends and just being a kid, growing up in the 90’s. Rewatching it now at an older age, I appreciate it even more because now I can understand dialogue and jokes that may have went over my head while watching it as a kid.

While I am not an animation major, I am taking this course because I took an intro to 3D animation course last semester as an elective and absolutely loved it, so I want to continue in the field to become more skilled with hopes to maybe create an animated short film with my VAT major alongside the ability to animate.
