I have been fighting gender stereotypes for years. Growing up in a hispanic household my brother and I were treated opposites. Him spoiled and me basically cinderella. I wanted to have that same treatment and growing up everything he did I did too. My mom taught me to cook “for my future husband”. No mother I’m learning to cook so I don’t starve when i’m hungry. I am a tomboy, I don’t wear dresses or skirts because I like sweatpants and jeans. I am not your typical girl and I will not be confined to society’s norms as to what a girl should be doing and wearing. I am not the princess that has to be saved, I am the princess doing the saving.
Great! This is a good snapshot. You don’t need to include the text you added, but in this case, it’s OK because aren’t necessarily interpreting the image as much as sharing your experience.
