Hello my name is Wilvyn Jimenez Dominguez and I am in my second semester at BMCC and my field of study is accounting. I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic until I was five years old, when my family moved to The Bronx in New York City. I’m also a highly antisocial, as well as very thoughtful observant person. I chose to take this course because it was a prerequisite for my degree and because I want to improve my writing skills, which I believe this course would help me do. One of my career goals is to one day own a business where I can sell my own gear and hype footwear, since I am a big lover of sneakers and own a lot of them, as well as being highly interested in fashion. My name is Angel Gomez and i am studying Business at BMCC. Currently i am in my 2nd year here and next semester would be my last semester here at BMCC. My goal for this class is to try to receive a higher grade than i received last semester. When i took ENG 101 i received a 70 as my final grade and i would like to get a higher grade in this ENG class. My favorite subject is my ENG class because i am better at writing than doing math.
The story “The Most Handsome Drowned Man” may have been assigned to us because it may set the tone for what other stories are to come. We may read other short stories/ books that have this mythical and scary tone to them. Or maybe this story will help us better understand the stories that we’re going to read. This was a very interesting story, a good first story I may add, it definitely gets you to start thinking. I thought it was cool that the village started to changes after their encounter with this man. It is crazy to think a dead guy could have a good impact on a small village and change their way of thinking. The women of the town started to think deep into Estabans life and even gave him that name. Now thanks to Estaban, they were seeing how dirty their town was and decided to change that. Maybe all of the stories we will read have something that is glorified and makes us snap back to reality?

Hello, my name is Tristan Bryan and I am a nineteen year old Business Administration major. While this class is mandatory for my major, I have always enjoyed writing. I have mainly used it as an outlet for expressing myself as I do not really convey my emotions properly. I also enjoy essay writing as it allows me to put my thoughts about different books and stories into writing; which in turn allows me to gain a better view on my own standpoints. What I hope to learn from this class are better overall writing skills and gain a deeper understanding processing emotion through words. This in turn will allow me to understand my peers and people in social settings.
