Activity 3 (Quiz)
This is a practical 10-question multiple-choice quiz in which students must match literary terms to quotes from literary works. The quiz will be available from 9:00 a.m. Monday, September 20 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26.. Quiz must be taken in one setting, and students have 90 minutes in which to complete it. This quiz will include “Araby,” so be sure to complete this reading before taking the quiz. Study materials for this quiz can be found in Activity 4 on the Week 4 page.
To access the quiz, navigate to your Blackboard course. On the dark grey navigation panel to the left, click “Links to Quizzes.” Then click “Quiz 4”
Activity 4
Essay 1 due: Sunday, October 3, 11:59 p.m.
In this class, you will be developing one single research essay over the course of the 15-week semester. We will be working on this project step by step. This process is known as “scaffolding.” Click here for an overview of this step-by-step process or revisit Activity 5 on the Week 1 page.
For Essay 1, you will write only an introduction (6-10 sentences). Please read all directions carefully and follow the outline given. Click here to access Essay 1 Directions.
When you are ready to submit, navigate back to your Blackboard course. On the dark grey navigation panel, click “Essay Submission Links.” Then click “Essay 1.”
All essays in this class must adhere to MLA format. Before submitting any written work, please review the following guides to formatting. Only correctly formatted essays will be eligible for a grade of A. There will be a quiz on format next week.
