The vignette I liked the most was “A Rice Sandwich”. It is a simple little story in which the main character voices her desire to eat at the school canteen. She managed to convince her mom and come up with a plan. When she finally gets to eat at the canteen however she ends up getting lectured by the school nun, causing her to be overwhelmed with tears and not being able to fully enjoy her time at the canteen. This story really resonated with my inner child. I could imagine myself in the exact situation, doing something that I would consider to be innocent but then getting in trouble for it. It would feel like I’d been wrong. It would feel like an injustice. So, the reason why I like this vignette is because it feels like going down memory lane and I feel less alone knowing that other people sometimes experience the same emotions as me.
