Week 3 discussion

One of the timeless experience I found while reading Oedipus the king was his strong philosophy. At the end of the literature, when the king came to realize that he was the guilty one, he did not think of protecting himself. Rather, he requested Creon to impose the same punishment on himself as he would impose on the guilty as King. This shows that even after having the power of a king, Oedipus was true to his belief and philosophy even over his own good. To me, when it comes to oneself, not a lot of individual will do the same as Oedipus.
