Welcome to Week 1 of ENG 201 Introduction to Literature on the BMCC OpenLab platform. This is an intensive course that will be completed in three weeks from Monday, January 3 – Monday, January 24. Be aware that the amount of material we will be covering is comparable to that of a regular 15-week semester. This means that you will have to work quickly and efficiently. In fact, your first essay is due at the end of this week on Sunday, January 9!
Before exploring this website, please be sure to complete the E-Learning Orientation on your Blackboard home page. Next, please review all material in COURSE INFORMATION (See menu above). Here you will find the course syllabus and other vital information about this course. Please be sure to read this information carefully.
Once you have completed these preliminary steps, please navigate to the Weekly Pages on the right side menu of this page and review the Week 1 activities. Be sure to complete the reading assignments early in the week because they are the basis of both the discussion board and the course essay.
You must also create an account with the Commonlit website. Some of the readings for this class will be accessed through this interactive site. For easy directions, visit COURSE INFORMATION on the main menu above.
Be sure to complete Quiz 1 by 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 9.
