1. Which assignment do you feel was most successful and why? The assignment I felt more proud of myself was Essay 4 because I was really focused on the way how to improve my writing plus I felt connection between fairytales. Also for essay 1 was a growth within my writing because my professor how to write a well written essay. 2. On what work do you feel you could have done better and how? I feel I could have done better on the quiz because I received low grade in my part. What I could done better rereading the reading. When I reread the reading I understand better. One thing to share that rereading makes it better to understand. This part I had hard time I would read it quickly but not fully understand the reading, so some days I would get stuck on what I’m reading. Now I take my time to reading the directions and reading. 3. If there was one thing you learned this semester, what was it? One thing I learned from this semester is to read the directions carefully because I would confuse myself and not understand the directions. That I would remain myself for 30 minutes still thinking what is the next step I should, so my advice for myself is reading it and not being afraid to ask.

Reading the short article by Raymond Carver, I found it very interesting how writing takes different forms. For instance, being creative in the writing or how it is written.“Thats all we have, finally, the words, and they had better be the right ones, with the punctuation in the right places so that they had better be the right ones so that they can best say what they are meant to say.” (Raymond Carver) In this part of the writing, he is telling us that being a writer needs to be very well written, plus with punctuation. He was thoughtful when talking about the writing. He sounds like a very smart person, the way he talks about wiring. That’s why I chose this quote, he details how a well-written piece is supposed to be. I would agree with this part for a writing for a reader to be drawn, many small, detailed grammatical or punctuation need to be added.
I do believe fairy tales are good for children because they can have their own creative mind. This is magical imagination because the young children can picture and fantasize fairytales from storytelling. I identified in List A “The Positive Impacts of Fairy Tales for Children” by Leilani VisikoKnox-Johnson, University of Hawaii Young children going through challenges a variety of therapists uses fairy tales on children, so they can observe the children’s response and reaction. In the end, this is a beautiful thing because each kid has their own creativity and experience.“This provides a great way of accessing children’s imagination by exploring memories of fairy tales and using them to address painful or unsettling issues in a nonthreatening, playful manner” (Leilani VisikoKnox-Johnson). “Even as Baum used a fairy tale to debunk magic reveal that it is produced by a Great Humbug who creates the mystery, he also affirmed the magic of language, the power to with words”(Why Fairstales matter). One thing I liked about this source tells how magic and imagination translate our language, how we think and express ourselves. Both authors give a clear explanation of what fairytales give to us because when children are young, they can imagine colors or reading. All in all gives off their own uniqueness of emotions.
Do you think literary texts should be cleared of offensive language, or do you feel the authentic language should be kept in place in the interests of historical context and characterization? Literary texts should be open to offensive language because the writer is telling the truth about something true. Reading a passage or book makes me more interested to read more because I like reading offensive words; the offensive words make more intrigued to tell whats going on an passage. I feel the authentic language should be open to the readers because being honest to the reading is very outgoing to read. Also, whoever the person writing has to be very intellectual in the way its writing because readers might take it personal. In my personal opinion, the offensive language is a truthful way to express the moment of situation grabbing the readers’ attention to read. Also I wouldn’t take it offensive because it was truthful to tell the situation.
I would rate seven out of ten in my ability to read poetry. I somewhat understand how to read poetry because i was able to understand poetry because I did my research on how to read poetry. The following steps google gave is reading the poetry out loud and reading it two or five times. Afterwards reading them out loud felt better to read because I read it slow and loud than I was able to understand the poetry. Reading the Oedipus the king poetry was interesting poetry because the poetry gives it a nostalgic sense. Free will is added to the connection of the reading because people are allowed to believe in their own beliefs, but this has a twist. In life there are karma laws that in life there are cause and effect such as positive and negative impacts of our actions. The reading relates to karma law because his own actions followed throughout his life leading to tragedy.
In Essay one I learned my mistakes from my feedback because writing an essay has been a while. Also in my fall semester in English 101 I had the same essay problems. One of them is writing present tense, vocabulary and unclear sentences. Learning my mistakes are being repetitive I was gladly to learn from my mistakes and I’m planning to go to the writing center to learn and better my writing. One thing about my writing I share my writing and reading the feedbacks from my professors. Reading the feedbacks makes me want to write more into my writing and making it more interesting. Learning more about literature makes want to improve into my writing and vocabulary, so one thing I started doing is reading and words I don’t understand I write in a notebook. Afterwards, writing the words I understand the words to make the reading easier for I to understand the reading. Applying dictionary and reading into my literature makes me want to to write poetry. Poetry is beautiful way to express within oneself emotions.
During reading the article from Toni Cade Bambara tells us how a person is experiencing experiences within people such as inequality and telling the audience there each day of school. Also I would add Martin Luther King Jr including the protest because people like listening to drama and protest that makes people want to argue and debate of different situations. Protesting will fall in the setting because people like discovering the time and place of the area where is being taken care of. I would title it Being part of a protest writing this title will make the reader make want to read more about the article. For example, reading the article made me wanted to know more about the setting and the problem. This brings the readers attention willing to know more of the article. The name of the essay made me think a lesson will be brought to the essay. Reading the essay made me interesting on how they learned and adapt to the challenges.
My understanding of the prewriting of week one activity ten is I will be annotating and analyzing the student essay format. I will evaluate a student’s essay to see any incorrect words grammar or punctuation. On a separate sheet, I will be writing notes of any missing errors or the student’s mistakes. Writing the notes will reflect to the student on what mistakes the student made. After annotating the student essay will see the mistakes they have to focus on, so the next time the student reread their essay what are the mistakes they had made. The purpose of the prewriting assignment is reading the student essay format will give us an idea of how an essay should be well-written essay should be written. Small mistakes such as grammar or indenting are added in an essay, but improvising them will give us an understanding of how to write a professional essay.
