At first, I thought poems were only just stories. But when I read them, I learned that poems have lots of meanings. With those meanings, I can learned a lot of vocabulary and what the main idea is. The only thing you had to do while reading a poem is not to stop reading mid-sentence. You had to stop if there is a comma, a period or if you’re at the end of the sentence. With poetry, I have to practice reading multiple times without stopping in the middle. For the play “Opedius the King”, I decided to do the part of the wife of the king. But unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time, to get to read my part.

Hi Anna I actually agree with you our professor really has a beautiful way of reading especially with poetry , it goes to show how your flow and tone of voice can effect the impact of the poem or story you are reading . I look forward to continuing the reading of opedius and you finally getting to your part . I admire your ability to read out loud in class not everybody is confident enough to do that so shout out to you !
Hey!
I totally relate to what you said about poems. I used to think that poems were just to impress people, but now I see how much meaning they pack in. It’s great that you’re learning new words and ideas. Reading without stopping mid-sentence really helps, right?
It’s awesome you picked the role of the king’s wife in Oedipus the King. Even if you didn’t get to read it this time, I’m sure you’ll have another chance. Keep at it. you’re doing great!
