I think I would like my essay to be about comparing the same fairy tales but in different cultures and languages and see if there is a difference in the meaning behind the fairy tales or if they are generally the same. And where the original fairy tale came from. Like the snow-white fairy tale was not from Disney but from the Grimm brothers and the way they presented it was totally different with somewhat different meanings. I haven’t found any article yet but i have a general idea of what to look for when i do.

Sabrina, this is a great topic. There are variations of the same fairy tales in many countries, even non-Western countries. The many versions of Rapunzel
come to mind.

This might sound crazy but I have never thought about other cultures having fairy tales nor did I think about fairy tales being in a different language and changing the two can make fairy tales have a different meaning behind them. I say this to say that I think this is a wonderful essay topic and can help others that never thought about changing the two see fairy tales in a different pov.
Hello Sabrina, I think that’s a great idea how you can apply these stories not only in the daily basis but in different societies and cultures that can have a different perspectives. I’m also intrigued by the cultures that use the same deep messages of the fairytales, in a bigger view or as way of life. I think that a lot from to pick but i found it very interesting your decision.
