Hello, My name is Yasmin and I am twenty-four years old. I am a mother to two girls ages six and four years old. I am Criminal Justice major and a freshman. I chose Criminal Justice as my major because I have also been interested in the law and government and everything surrounding the two. My dream career is to be a Youth Criminal Defense attorney and then a U.S. District attorney. I want to be a lawyer because I want to make a differnce espically for the youth in the system. I know that sound kind of cliche but I really want to make a change. To me the system needs a whole revamping because a lot of it is outdated, bias, and prejudice. This is a little bit about me and I hope to learn a little bit about you all.

Hello Yasmin! So nice to meet you! Pursuing a career as a Youth Criminal Defense attorney is quite commendable and I’m happy to see another individual working to better improve our communities. I currently work part-time as a program assistant for a University’s food pantry to combat food insecurity for youths pursuing higher education. Your motivation for pursuing this career is not cliche but rather inspiring! To improve the system, we have to actively find a way in first and then we can begin rebuilding it to create a better opportunity for everyone.
Your response was very touching and I also find you commendable for your work that you are doing at the food pantry. A lot of people don’t fully understand still that food is very scarce for many individuals and families.
