One Thing that surprised me in this book was the very ending of the story where she was in a state of shock thinking Brentley was dead but in fact he was alive. Why this surprised me is because we all thought the same thing in the story. I wonder what she was thinking. Did it seem like a dream to her or a nightmare ?
One thing that intrigued me about this story was the whole point of the story, because I too as the readed thought certain things as the main character but at the end was shocked at the results it was giving.
One thing that puzzled me in this book was the death of the husband because at the twisted end he was then found dead. Did someone plan to kill him or did they just assume he was dead from nothing in return from something he was doing?

Jayden, thanks for the posts. We need more in your response about what intrigued you about the readings. You write that you were intrigued by the whole point of the story and that you “thought certain things” as you read it. But what certain things did you think? And what is the whole point of the story? What does your response mean? Regarding what puzzles you, please be aware that at the end of the story, Mr. Mallard is alive, not dead. He survived a train collision.
Hi Jayden, I liked how you wrote your responses to the question. I felt as though you may have mixed up the part where he was dead or alive in your line “because at the twisted end he was then found dead.” I think you meant alive. but I agree with everything else that was said in your writing. I just wish you talked more about it. I also notice the response of how she felt like she was dreaming i also felt that way when she talked about the sky and the seeing and imagining things also in the story.
