In reading “Oedipus the King”, I found multiple times of timeless human experiences and behaviors. One example shown in the play was the truth. While reading, “Oedipus” had a strong urge to find out what happened to the former king. He was tired of everyone around him advising him not to look into what happened. But as us humans, we always are willing to try to find out what really happened. Especially when you are the person in a high state of demand like he is, he should be able to know what happened. This was very difficult for Oedipus as our experiences may cause it to be difficult to get past things once said in our lives but never had the full truth. But eventually he found out about it and longs for it. Sometimes the truth isn’t always the best to be said and listening to others could help out in the long run.

I argee with you Kezia. I also had the similar response to what you had. I feel like all human’s really want to find out what really happened in any shape or form. I think it because on how we just are and we are adventurous. Like for myself, I was always want to know what really happened in my past. Sometimes I get told a lie or never the full thing based on the situation. Sometimes the truth does hurt so if needed do what you have to do but always try and say the truth.
hello kezia. I am admirable on your post because you have really expressed the timeless experiences that many of the audience have seen as well. I to have mentioned these experiences as I was reading the play. the sentences that really stood out to me is when you stated “as humans, we always are willing to try to find out what really happened” and ” Sometimes the truth isn’t always the best to be said.”. These stood out because everybody on earth as always dealt with a dilemma of finding out the truth or if the truth is benefical to remain sheathed.
I like how you mentioned as humans we are always sought to find out the truth. I believe Most of the time we already know what really happened but seek for something different to ease the pain.
