In my mind and my way of thinking, I think you have assigned this as the first story of the course is for us to learn how from other people we can learn more about them or about other things. Also to open our mind of thinking and seeing how others can be different and have different feelings or thoughts but we connect to others or to one another, it may not look important to learn from one another but it is because that way we can grow knowledge and have experience.

Reading the Handsome drown man, i can relate to some of the stories and myths. Growing up near the seaside on the island we also see a lot of strange things and heard a lot stranger things, but our imaginations that makes it all fun.
I think in the “Handsome Drowned man” the villagers, especially the women saw Esteban as a symbol of what could of been, even after his death and bloated corpse they still saw how handsome he was and what could of been if he was still alive. Even after the men wanted to bury him the women did not want to let go and wanted to mourn him and commemorate Esteban’s memory forever in the village.
