Margaret Atwood says: “Literature is not only a mirror; it is a map, is a geography of the mind”. It says that that literature transports you to another world, it transports you to the environmnent od the story. When you are focus on the story, you feel that you are inside the story, that is to say, it guides you to the destination of the main point of the story.
When I was reading On “Salvation” by Langstin Hughes, he witnessed a sentiment in the church at the church of his aunt Reed. After the church, his aunt said to him that that feeling is the presence of Jesus Christ, the presence of the almighty God. The case is that he felt this feeling as a chill, but not the physical presence of Jesus even when every one in the church pray for him. In my case, I would feel the real presence of Jesus Christ only praying and adoring him when I feel this famous feeling inside me that brings me peace and armony. If I were Langston, I would not be stubborn and I would accept Jesus in my soul because this sentiment brings me peace, stability, and armony.

I like your remarks, but for your essay you will have to be more specific. How does the quote connect to “Salvation” more specifically? How is the story like a mirror for those who read it? How does “Salvation provide a map to the geography of the mind- of both the character and the reader?
