Anta Diaw Fall, Final discussion

Along this longue journey in the literature world during the whole semester, I met so many amazing writings by amazing people. Some were difficult to understand, some were easier to understand. But one of them really highlighted something important my, which is the story of Bluebeard. Because it shows a theme that I experienced as a girl and saw people experienced. In the perspective, where the younger sibling gets rid of all his bad feelings about Bluebeard because he was nice to him. Which shows that the girl was not fully prepare for the outside world. She could not distinguish bad and good people like her instinct of detecting danger is not fully developed. Which is like the case of most girl in my country including me because of the parenting style. The type of parenting style which overprotect women until it become a barrier for their own growth. However, it has one story that change my point of view in something that I was really sensitive to talk about. The poem the mother by Gwendolyn Brooks changes my perspective about women who have abortion. When I read it, I start accepting that in some case abortion is really a necessity rather than a sin. Because I thought that in anyway, a woman should abord her baby, but it read convince me that some women have no other choice than abortion. After all literature works that read, I think the writer who have the most appealing writing is Kate Chopin. When you read The story of an hour, you feel every ounce of emotion that the writer wants to express. From sad to joy, or shock. The way she describes the view is like you are face the same view, the way she describes the smell, the sound… everything feels real. That is why I think she has the most attractive writing style because she makes the reader lives the experience along the character.
