Odalis Ortega Discussion 4

I’ve always liked poetry. I especially like angsty short poetry, the kinds that are in books such as “milk and honey“. The way they’re written is musical in a sense and I like the way it often touches/ relates to me. I also like poetry with hidden meanings. Getting to the “aha!” Point is often mind opening and gives me a different perspective on the poem. The poem in class that I enjoyed was the poem “My Mistress’s Eyes Are Nothing like the Sun.”.  At first by the title alone I thought it would be saying her beauty exceeds the sun but I was surprised when he began insulting her. The message at the end of “she’s flawed but I love her anyways” was very sweet.
