The stories that we read in week 5 many of these are classic and famous stories that many of our parents have read to us when we were kids and seen in movies thanks to Disney. something that we have not noticed in this classic of literature is there is a message inside it. The message that these stories have is the meaning and the importance of the family and also the conflicts that this contracts. One of these stories highlights the importance of the family even when it is short is Hansel and Gretel where the two siblings traversed a wood by themselves and are trapped by a witch with the intention of fattening him for then killing and eating him. Gretel with her courage killed the witch throwing her into the oven where Hansel went to be cooked. In conclusion, the moral of this story is to highlight the importance of being united when a difficult situation arises. The family must help each other in view of a difficult situation. Siblings must be united ever, support, and help each other.

I agree that the story really highlights the power of this bond between Hansel and Gretel. They constantly take care of each other and truly love each other. Despite their parents, who typically are guardians and trusted above all others, abandoning them, they never give up. I think it is also interesting how the idea of youth is depicted in many of these as a form of purity and perfection. As children, the idea of harming each other for their own sake never crosses their minds. Gretel does not run away when Hansel is trapped. She stays with him throughout because they work as a unit. I find it interesting how these tales encourage us to attempt to remain innocent and pure in the face of the troubles we may tackle by living in such a troublesome world.
