Toni Cade Bambara’s The Lesson illustrates C.S. Lewis’s literary criticism by telling us how Sylvia perceives and thinks about her environment as an impoverished black kid in the 1960s. The narrative reminded us of some of our personal challenges, which some of us are still dealing with in 2023.

Hello Xitlally,I agree with you that the story “The Lesson” expands about how young children don’t see or more of understand how we grownups sacrifice our ability of work and stress to obtain what we want through our hard work that we put in our daily life.It seen like in the story the kids want a toy but know its expensive so the would never get it but as Miss Sylvia says its a challenge to get what you want .
