A Letter to Freshmen

Firstly, congratulations on becoming a college student and welcome to BMCC. There is some advice for incoming freshmen at BMCC. The first one is you don’t need to spend too much money on textbooks. Instead, you can rent your digital textbooks from the school book store or you can go to the library to borrow textbooks and scan and print them. There are computer labs in different buildings for students to use. The second is you can join in the Impact mentoring program at BMCC, you can be a mentee, and you will have a mentor to help you and support you success for the semester. Next, BMCC has a lot of services you can use. For example, the Panther Pantry offers free food for students who are facing a food emergency and financial problem. BMCC has a learning center, you can make a tutoring appointment for your class assignments. BMCC also offers tutoring for each class course that you take. BMCC also has a swimming pool, gym and gymnasium, you can do exercise to keep healthy. There are about 50 clubs which you can join and explore if you are interested and make new friends. BMCC career center offers job fairs each semester and they can help you to find an internship, build your resume, and find jobs. I would advise freshmen to learn how to manage their finances. This skill will help you to face any financial struggle that you might face during your path. You should maintain your GPA high, so you can transfer to 4-year-university easily. ht face during your path. You should maintain your GPA high, so you can transfer to 4-year-university easily.
