In “We Should All Be Feminists,” Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Persons who are conscious of gender inequity and wish to bring about change are considered feminists. She makes it clear that feminism is a movement that benefits everyone, not just women. In her statement, “We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller,” Adichie draws attention to the way society frequently inhibits women from achieving success for the straightforward reason that a man’s ego will collapse if he isn’t outperforming a woman.
Feminism, to me, represents a movement advocating for equality and justice, where all persons , regardless of gender, have the same rights and opportunities. It’s about challenging societal norms that allow inequality and empowering everyone to live authentically and freely within or above there limits at there own rate. I do consider myself a feminist because I believe in fighting for these principles and supporting the voices of the groups because we must all come together to see change
