in the text, “Danger of a single story” by Adichie speaks on how she has faced many challenges such as dealing with hearing “single stories” and judgement o because she is Nigerian. She explains about her hearing single stories, where when she didn’t want to eat, her mother would often tell her to finish her food because a person that she knew, Fide, and his family were under the problem with poverty. But after Adichie and her family went to visit them, she was shocked from her seeing them of what Fidel’s brother made. She states other examples and ends of with a saying, that we as people can change the ways of people creating “our” stories because there’s so much that is always being left out.

I completely concur with this statement that she made overall because my mother would sometimes tell me that she always thought of America being life changing based off of propaganda, little did she know that it’s not about that, yeah life’s way more different from Mexico and America but it’s still difficult, she faced minimum wage, and it was hard for her to look for an apartment when I was young. She was indeed influenced by a single story, but it’s a good thing that she still chose to move to the U.S because I know for a fact that it will be way harder to live in the poorest parts of Mexico.
