In the article “snapchat wants you to post. It’s willing to pay millions” by Taylor Lorenz, Talks about different peoples experience with Snapchat new feature called spotlight. Cam Casey, 19 uploaded a video to spotlight wondering if it will gain traction. Two weeks later he ended up with 3 million by snapchat because it went viral. But not just Cam Casey can make money, anyone can. Andrea Romo works at a Lowes for $12.50, she uploads a video and it went viral without he knowing. She also saw how much she made form uploading a video of deep-frying a turkey. She made Half a Million in two weeks. Another example is Katie who can now afford college because on Spotlight was able to give her the financial aid for it.Spotlight is a place where you can upload anything on just like the completion like Tik Tok and Instagram reels. Many people who use this money also want to use it for good or for stuff that they always wanted to.Dominic Andre an influencer wants to open a science education house in los angels with his $600,000.Spotlight helped change many peoples live by providing money to those who are lucky to go viral.
My experience with social media is that everyone is trying to go viral. It’s like an addiction for everyone(or at least everyone I know). They only car about the likes or what they are going to post, hoping it goes viral for a small or huge amount of fame.Social media for me is fun, I do like posting my daily post on instagram. It helps me just write down my feelings or just share my thoughts with those I’m close to.But social media isn’t all rainbow and sunshine, There’s a dark side full of hate from many people who want to share there thoughts on stuff they weren’t asked on.

I agree with you the spotlight that comes from social media is not for everyone just like you mentioned some people just use it for the sake of sharing highlights of their life to friends and family. Many people overlook the dangers that come with social media and if you go too deep into it could take a mental toll on you.
