Why this important?
Early consumption of technology in children have negative affects on their development. It is important to teach a child without solely relying on an iPad or a computer for them to properly develop in the early stages of their life. It makes no sense why a two year old can’t self soothe, or is behind on her vocabulary but, can instantly recognize the first three seconds of Cocomelon. It is our job to spread awareness to prevent many parents and schools of mistakenly causing children to not develop properly because of technology.
What is the appropriate age to introduce technology?
There isn’t a set in stone age of when its “appropriate” to introduce technology, because there are multiple different websites and and game specifically to young children, to learn and be entertained by themselves. I would say that the use of technology without heavy supervision should be when the child is old enough to speak and know how to use it properly.
What can be used instead of technology?
TOYS! Toys are made for children to learn and be entertained. A child can play by themselves or with others. They learn to share, problem solve, role play, and even if they like playing by themselves.
