Question 1 :why did you choose this issue to advocate for ?
I chose this issue to advocate for because it is an important issue to address, and I know that there are many families and children who can’t understand the language so I hope this can help.
Question 2 : Why is this issue personally meaningful to you?
This issue is meaningful to me because when I was little I had to learn English and go to school and attend ESL classes. So I want to spread awareness and support for this Issue. My goal is to assist children’s education and development, and to make them feel included always.
Question 3 : How does this topic impact you as an early childhood educator?
This topic would impact me as an early childhood professional because knowing about this issue would help me from future issues regarding this. Every ECE educator, knows the importance it is for a parent to be able to be engaged in their child’s development. Ensuring that instruction is inclusive and responsive to individual requirements is the key. That is why this topic impacts me.
Question 4 : What is shown in the bonfennbrenner Video?
My bronfenbrenner video refers to a social issue and I chose “Child Neglect”. It’s when a child’s basic needs, such as food, clothing or shelter are not provided. I provided the impact that children are mostly impacted by social neglect, images and a chart with history about child neglect. And I also included a social ecological model which includes many factors that may affect health, including physical, mental, and social well-being between the individual, the group/community, and the physical, social, and political environments. Lastly I end off with why I chose to speak about my social issue
