  1. Evidence based practices for working with families who have infants involve building strong relationships, and providing support. I can apply this to family who have infants by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where families feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns

    – Having open communication with families
    – Learning about how we can prevent miscommunications with families
    -learning the culture from the families to help set a schedule for the child that will make the families comfortable with the teachers and earn their trust

It is important for infant teachers to develop relationships and understand family’s expectations and cultures to avoid miscommunication and provide the baby with the best care.   5. Some evidence based practices for working with families who have infants include creating strong relationships with them. Asking questions about their culture and preventing miscommunications is the way children can be more comfortable with expressing their backgrounds to the teacher and other students. Be honest, and open with them no matter what, and never make them feel uncomfortable or feel like they can’t trust you.

  7. Some evidence based practices for working with families who have infants that I have learned in this module is
    – Creating a strong bound with the family to make sure their is communication within teachers and parents.
    – Understanding the parents culture and their point of views such as incorporating their culture to the classroom environment.
    -We should also learn how to avoid miscommunication with families and see what works best for the baby while still using the program polices. The sources I used for this was gonzalez mena and cultural competency.

    Incorporating a family’s culture into the educational setting makes them feel welcome and fosters trust.

    Culturally encompass all families.
