Assignment #1: Tri-Semester Survey Week 15
As we finish up ECE 209, your feedback is important to me. This was my 1st time teaching ECE 209 fully on-line as an asynchronous course. I have know there are many places where I need to grow and improve! As a member of our learning community, I would appreciate it you can share your insights with me. Please complete the Tri-Semester Survey, Week 15
Take a picture of the last page and submit it on ECE 209-Seminar Blackboard, in Assignments under Tri-Semester Survey Week 15 (I change the pictures during each survey)
Assignment #2: Teaching Beliefs Paper
As professionals who work with infants, toddlers, and families, it is important for us to define our philosophy of teaching. Our beliefs guide our behavior and what we do in the classroom. As we learn, grow, and gain experience, our beliefs will change. Being able to articulate what we believe is important because we are often asked why we engage in specific practices and have to advocate for our needs, or the needs. Having a clear rationale for our actions enables us to speak as skilled, trained professionals.
As you transition from ECE 209 to ECE 308 — your first fieldwork class – it is a good time to reflect on your beliefs. The Teaching Belief Statement Paper will allow you to share your beliefs about working with babies and families, connecting them what you have learned in ECE 209, and thinking about your future fieldwork placement.
