Assignment #2: Reflecting on Your Site Visit

Reflect on and answer the questions below:

  1. Which age group did you observe?
  2. What struck you from the video? Why?
  3. What did you learn being a teacher with the age group you observed?
  4. Can you picture yourself working in the classroom? Why?

Reply to 2 comments, 1 from each age group that you did NOT visit (if you visited the infant-toddler class, reply to 1 comment from a person who visited a preschool class and 1 from a person who visited a young school age class.

  3. What professional expectations do we have for early childhood professionals?  Name ones that have not been mentioned yet!

Module 1 Introductions Assignment #1: Introduce Yourself! (8/26-9/14)

This assignment has 4 parts:

  1. Email me at jlongley@bmcc.cuny.edu:
    1. Your preferred email
    2. Something you love about yourself
    3. Your phone number (optional).
  2. Create an avatar for your Open Lab profile (on the Course Profile Page of Open Lab in My Settings). The introductory video (on the Home menu item) has instructions on how to upload your avatar.
  3. Watch this video on time management and tips for student success in online learning.

  1. Introduce yourself by answering the following questions:
    1. What is your preferred name and gender pronouns?
    2. Tell us 3 things you would you like us to know about you?
    3. What are 2 techniques you plan to use to manage your time in this on-line class (at least 1 technique should be from the video) ? What challenges could prevent you from using the techniques?  How will you deal with those challenges?
