    I’m taking this class because it’s a prerequisites for the nursing program, plus I need this class in order to graduate this summer.

    I’m worried about complaining all the work on time, it seems like its a lot of work to be covered.

        I say I’m warrior because I feel like my life was in jungle and I had to fight to be where I’m today. I never had things easy and at the age of 38 years old I’m getting my life together for myself and my soon to be 17 years old son. I am an overcome because I never stop fighting and trying to better myself. I’m not a victim I’m a survivor.

    Why are you taking ECE 110 this summer?
    I’m taking ECE 110 because I wanna graduate on time and learn everything I need to learn from this class and apply to what what I wanna be life.
    What goals do you have for ECE 110? What do you hope to learn?
    The goalsI have are to understand better how to better understand how to take this class online,learn new things and pass the class and I hope to learn new skills and come out the class with more knowledgeable about the kids I’m hoping to teach one day and how there kids works during the early stages and what I need to do to be the best teacher possible.

I agree that taking an online class can be overwhelming and stress a the same time,because there may be assignments that can be confusing or not turning homework assignments on time before the due date.       I think its pretty cool you love food and traveling. Didn’t mentioned that in my answers I specially love to try foods from different countries, is one of my favorite things to do as well.

      I second on your concerns too, I do want to do my best as possible but I’m also new to this site, specailly online classes. its a little concerning to miss due dates or fall behind just because this will be a fast pace course, but like I mentioned in my entry I am certain that Professor Longley will be very helpful and guide us as best as possible. best of luck =)

    I am taking ECE 110 this summer because it is required for my degree.

    my goal for ECE110 is to gain a better understanding and collect knowledge about children and I hope to pass this class.

    I am looking forward expending my knowledge about children and have a good formation and preparation to become a teacher in the future.

    It seems that there is a lot of work to complete in limited time. So I am worried if I could not be able to complete all my assignments.

      I totally agree with your response to question 6 because things happen in life and it’s hard to complete assignment sometimes and having a lot responsibility and doing assignment is very hard.

      Yasmina — Welcome to ECE 110 in summer 2020! I am thrilled you are here! I understand you are worried about Open Lab. Hopefully in a few weeks it will become easier. Your self-assessment will help determine if you pass this class — you are in the driver’s seat! As far as the workload, during summer courses, we take a 15 week semester and condense it into 6 weeks. If we were meeting face-to face, we would be meeting 4 nights a week from 5:30 PM -9:50 PM. In other works, you should expect to spend 17.5 hours on ECE 110 modules this summer, plus additional time for writing papers and projects!

    4.the goals i have for ECE 110 is to learn more about children, and apply what i learn to my work place. i hope to learn new skills and gain more knowledge about working with children.

    I am hoping to understand/learn more about the younger age group. I would like to master the content and be successful.

    I am looking forward to hear about this younger student’s behavior from my professor and classmates and hoping to better understand why some of our older students now behave how they do. Last but not least, I will understand much better why my niece who is 8 years old behave like she is going on to 88 years old.

      I think it’s great that you want to understand children’s behavior. That is one of my goals from this class. I feel if we understand them better and are able to observe and interpret their behavior correctly, we will be able to help and give children the tools they need to be successful in school.also, hopefully by the end of this semester you will finally understand your niece’s behavior and know why she behaves like she’s 88 years old.     I enjoy working with children, I have been a nanny for over 10 years. I love snowboarding and traveling and look forward to this class and meeting my classmates.

    I have decided to further my education and focus on my future career as an educator.

    I hope to be able to complete all the assignments to the best of my ability. I hope to learn how to work with children better and more techniques that i already know, as well as understand infants and older kids better.

    This is the first course I take towards my career so I am looking forward to figuring out if early childhood education is the right fit for me.

    Besides working with preschoolers, dance is one of my biggest passions. It brings joy to my life and it’s very therapeutical. I also enjoy watching foreign movies and picking up words, phrases and expressions from other languages. I’m partially interested in the tukish, itlaian and Hindi language. Im family oriented and love spending time with my love ones.

    3. Why are you taking ECE 110 this summer?

    Although I had taken this course and passed with a decent grade I had to retake it. I am trying to get certified as a Montessori teacher and I’m asked to get a higher grade for this course so this was a great opportunity for me to retake the course. Even though I passed this course I know there is no harm in having a refresher. I am positive there are new things I will learn from this class or understand better the second time around.

    4. What goals do you have for ECE 110? What do you hope to learn?

    -I want to understand better what avreage appropriate behaviors?
    -How to approach children who hard behavior issues?
    -How to identify better a child that needs a different approach of learning than the general population?
    -When observation in a classroom, how do I know what’s more important to write down when I have limited time to observe?

    5.What are you most looking forward to in ECE 110?

    -I want to be more knowledgable in the aspect of being able to read children better. Be more aware of red flags.
    -I want to feel more confident when I write down my observations.
    -I want to learn proper terms used by educators to describe children wants and needs.

    6.What are you most worried or concerned about for ECE 110?

    I am worried to fall behind. Sometimes when I have a lot on my plate like now I get overwhelmed and stressed. I’m still learning how to be a better multitasker and mange my time better.

    I am happy to know that we do have a wonderful and very caring professor to guide us. This does alleviate some of my concerns and make me feel more comfortable to ask questions as much as needed.

      Teresa — Welcome to ECE 110! I am happy you are taking the class this summer. I am not 100% sure that ECE 110 will meet all of your goals — we are focusing on child development. Observation will be a part of ir, but ECE 311 and ECE 410 will be focusing on those concerns. Thanks for your kind words!

    I am taking this course as the main module of my undergraduate, and I am taking it now during the summer classes to complete my 1st semester.

    These are my firsts academic step learning how to teach kids and I hope to acquire the proper pedagogy on the long run to serve me in my future work with children.

    Looking forward to enjoying this process, to make sure I’m on the right way and to take pleasure in understanding the world seen through the eyes of the little ones.

    I was worried if I ever could not understand OpenLAb or to manage the volume of information in a short-given time.

      Nana — Thanks for introducing yourself! Welcome to ECE 110! Congratulations on your 1st post! I imagine Open Lab will become easier as time goes on. The course does have many assignments/ a lot of work. During summer classes, we take the typical 15 week semester and condense it into 6 weeks.
