Summary

Summary:

The Film "Parasite" shows an interesting scenario where two families from different social classes intertwine to create a captivating but murky narrative at the same time. Firstly, we are shown the Kim family living in the suburbs, who live day to day and manage each other to survive. As the film progresses, the young son of the Kim family is offered a golden opportunity, which is to be an English teacher for the daughter of a wealthy family (Park Family) and social class. The boy seems to be very resourceful, but his intentions are dark as he shows a quick interest in possessing the life that the family that hired him has. As a result, he creates a morbid plan which consists of replacing the entire household staff so that the rest of his family can fill the vacant positions. As they enjoy income through lies, the Kim family mocks how naive the rich can be for how easily they allow themselves to be deceived, without bothering them with the fact that they impersonate and adopt an identity that is not their own, being complete parasites at the moment they imitate this behavior.

In my opinion, the moral message that this Korean film reflects is that we should not take excessive advantage of an opportunity, greed together with an uncertain economic need should not lead us to overact in a vicious combination which harms those around us and ourselves. As for the wealthy family, being more aware and careful of the dangers lurking around would be beneficial, it cannot be that they have ignored a secret passage in their own home for more than 4 years.

1. I would follow my conscience: I think that if it comes to moral conscience, the boy's choice was the right one. Often the family comes before everything, and that is the moral conscience that is instilled in us.
2. I don't know what I would do: I would accept the job, but I would limit myself only to fulfilling my role and the requirements. As for my family, I don't think I would have an answer since I am very alien to them.
3. I would do whatever would improve my own situation: Of course, I would choose to take the job to guarantee economic income, unfortunately, in the film it seems that none of the actors think about the consequences that their actions may generate.
4. I would do what God or the scriptures say is right: First of all, I would not lie, nor pretend to be something I am not. Living a worldly and pretentious life goes against the word of the Lord; therefore, it should be avoided at all costs.
5. I would do whatever made me happy: Take advantage of the job offer yet separate my personal problems from those of my work. In this case, I would not listen to any authority figure, living based on my decisions would make me happy.
6. I would follow the advice of an authority figure: I would follow the father advice to work together at home, but establish rules and not take advantage of others, much less the trust that someone gives you in a time of need.
7. I would do what’s best for everyone: I think in the end it was all in vain, the best thing and what I would do if I cared about everyone is to get away from work and expose the lie before it becomes something serious. At least there would be no unnecessary deaths or serious psychological damage.

If I were in this situation, I would accept the job, but I would only limit myself to it, my personal feelings and my family influence would not influence it. If I had no choice but to commit deception and live at the expense of others, I would decide to intervene and confess, even then I would not expect a decent life without murders or disturbances with my family.
