Summary
Fallacy: "Burden of Proof" fallacy occurs when someone says something is true or false just because theres no evidence against it. They're assuming that if theres no evidence against their claim, it automatically makes their point true. However, it isn't always true.
Example: Trump saying Covid-19 originated from the Asian community.
This is an example of a "burden of proof" fallacy because there is no proof that Trump claim is true and rational. His claim lacks evidence and unfairly puts the blame on an entire group without any proof. This kind of claim has also fueled stereotypes and prejudice against people from Asian culture.
