The headline of the story is that U.S Oil production is the highest it has ever been in years. The first point on vox.com states that U. S oil production has spiked during Joe Biden’s run as president. Saying that as of 2023, the U.S pumped on average, nearly 13 million barrels everyday, which is an all time record. They went over the production of countries like Russia and Saudi Arabia which average about 10 million barrels as of 2023. As much as this is an insane milestone for the U.S, vox.com says that Joe Biden barely promotes the milestone because of his promotion in transitioning away from fossil fuels and more greener alternatives. The second point comes from foxbusiness.com that says that the U.S has been leading in production for six years, including 2023. It does mention that the U.S surpassed their barrel record from 2019, but it doesn’t give the thanks to President Biden. They actually say that Saudi Arabia, Russia and the U.S have been the leading crude oil producers for over 50 years, They combines in 32 million barrels as of 2023 while countries like Canada, Iraq and China combined 13.1 million in 2023, which is just as much as the U.S alone. The last point from forbes.com says that the EIA or the Energy Information Administration honored this record but the U.S didn’t. EIA are the ones that confirmed that the U.S makes more oil than any other country. They also argue that no other country will get a hold of the 13 million barrels a day record because nobody can produce at the rates that the U.S can. According to Forbes, Saudi Arabia had plans to reach an average of 13 million barrels a day by 2027, but they scrapped it. All sources used similar evidence but they all have the same opinion about the U.S being able to dominate in oil production for the next couple of decades. Forbes was able to bring more evidence on why the U.S is dominant in productions while Vox was giving praise to Joe Biden and Fox was comparing production statistics between different countries.
