"The paradox of choice" by Barry Schwartz.
Having too many options can stress people, making it hard for them to choose. This phenomenon can be caused by fear of regret while making a wrong choice or miss better choice.Too many choices can lead to higher expectations thus making harder to meet their standard. However reducing choices can simplify someone life and lead to happiness. In the end by simplifying our life by focusing on what's important can lead to greater happiness.
My own argument: Money can buy happiness but it's not vital. I come from a country where there is not that much of choices but we were still happy . Why? I really don't know. However we were dealing with what we have and where focus on important matters such as food on the table, better carrer , healthy family ,etc... Sure money would make it easier but it is more like a tool than a source of happiness if I can say it like that. For example , you do not have a suit. You buy one with money and you feel happy. Not because you bought it but because you feel handsome and well dressed for a special occasion.Everyone give you some compliment and you are happy. That's what is the most important side of money that matters to me. A tool that investing on yourself makes you happy and transform your environment to make it better.
