Summary

In the ted talk “The Paradox of Choice”, the argument was that more is less because the amount of trouble that comes with having too many options. The reasons to support this idea is that responsibility is set upon the less qualified person to make a decision, which leads you feeling guilt because you wonder if you made the right choice due to there being other possibilities. Another piece of evidence is that when encounter multiple options your less likely to make a decision because you have more to choose from rather than not having that right at all.

I read up on the article “From the ‘perfect’ salary to keeping up with the Joneses, here’s how money really affects your happiness” by Cory Stieg”. The article tackles the idea of how money brings happiness or whether money itself is the result of happiness at all. I believe that while money is included in the process of being happy, money itself cant be the source of happiness in your life. I claim that purpose is the true meaning of happiness, being able to wake up in the morning and just enjoy what you do with your time is true happiness. According to the article it says,” Research shows that if you want to be happier in your job you shouldn’t chase a high salary”. Another piece of evidence is, “9 out 10 said they’d trade 23% of there future earnings for a job with meaning. This shows what you do in your life is highly crucial on how your feeling rather than what you can obtain.
