A time ago, I was scrolling on TikTok, and I saw a video of some people screaming, “Don’t talk to them, they are a cult,” and “Please don’t go with them, they are a cult.” I was so confused with the situation because the person who was recruiting strangers looked like a store employee, and where the recruiter was taking them looked just like a regular store. It looked as if Sephora employees were outside, trying to get customers inside the store to generate more sales. Scrolling in the comments for context, I got to know that it was a cult indeed and that its name was Scientology. They recruit people and brainwash them with the cult’s way of seeing life. People are brainwashed to the point they can’t escape the cult.
CNN describes Scientology as “At the core of Scientology is a belief that each human has a reactive mind that responds to life’s traumas, clouding the analytic mind and keeping us from experiencing reality. Members of the religion submit to a process called auditing to find the sources of this trauma, reliving those experiences in an attempt to neutralize them and reassert the primacy of the analytic mind, working toward a spiritual state called “clear.”
To avoid getting enlisted you need to avoid being nice to the recruiters, basically know how to say no.
Second, you need to know that no cult is good for humans because it takes your liberty away. The leaders brainwash them for their benefit.
And third, you always need to do research before joining any group.
