Conversation 3: Bias

Summary

A group of truck drivers who support former President Donald Trump say they will not drive to New York City because they’re upset about him being fined for more than 350 million dollars last week. This decision comes after Trump was banned from running his business in New York for three years and found responsible for over $350 million in damages in a fraud case brought against him, his family, and the Trump Organization by New York Attorney General Letitia James. Some facts included in all three stories are who is being sued, by, who and why. It was noted in, “Truckers For Trump are Refusing to drive New York City after $350m fraud Ruling” that it is not certain if the boycott will happen, but Chicago ray isn't alone in speaking out against the civil fraud ruling. This intense response to the civil rights fraud ruling might indicate how America will react to the results of Trump's current court cases in both federal and state courts. Yes, there was subjective language being used to favor one point over the other. This comes from the video dialogue that was uploaded about Chicago Ray speaking on his opinion of the situation. Where he states, “I’ve been on the radio talking to drivers for about the past hour, and I’ve talked to about 10 drivers," Ray wrote. "I don’t know how far across the country this is or how many truckers are going to start denying loads going to New York City, but I’ll tell you what — you f--- around and find out," showing that consequences will be faced if actions are taken lightly. I believe that these articles may come off as biased, my reason for this because taking into confederation the things that society has portrayed Trump to be has not been a good look, and now that he is allegedly getting sued for something people will continue to have a bias on Trump, his opinions in politics, and their choice to elect him again if he decides to run for office.
