Summary
In my definition, critical thinking is a cognitive skillset/ability one can obtain in order to easily see through and navigate past any kind of information or scenario given efficiently. This engagement of the environment with the critical ways of thinking however I believe is only gained through one's experiences in life that simultaneously force them to think more intellectually. In the two videos presented to me, they both featured two speakers who hold a similar value of what critical thinking is and what it truly means. Since critical thinking is an extensive topic, there can be many definitions to people of what critical thinking is, given that one of the speakers claims he believes that it is the art of analyzing and reevaluating our own views to improve our ways of thinking. This statement emphasizes his significance in which a person's perspective, thoughts and actions all determine our own worldview. The other speaker believes that critical thinking is used in the process of us learning and how much engagement or awareness is being used in our minds in times when we push ourselves to learn. He explains that this process is used in teaching in order for teachers to educate kids on how to adapt creatively in certain situations and create innovative ideas to solve their problems. It is essential, since we constantly question and are trying to understand things we do not understand, in the process of doing so we gain the knowledge to adapt and solve quick.
