Summary

Critical thinking to me is a broad subject that involves the process of breaking down the thinking of an individual and or everyone around to examine how that thinking is constructed. All of us as individual thinks all the time but we rarely take a minutes to understand and look closely at our thinking, how we view things in our perspective and how our thinking affects how we all view the world differently, instead of knowing how to think we were taught what to think. The two speakers in the video I watched had defined critical thinking similarly but explains it in different ways because of how broad the subject is there are handful of definition that can explain what is critical thinking. One of them explains how critical thinking is the art of analyzing and evaluating thinking with a view to improving it. He explains how it is important because it helps us understand how someone's thinking or action reflects how they see the world. It also gives us a tool to dig out those clues and reconstruct the reasoning of the thinker. The other speaker explains how critical thinking involves the process of ones own learning , so that we can engage with our own minds and awareness, by questioning things, attending understanding not just knowledge. He explains how it is important to teach critical thinking in schools, to our children. because the point of teaching how to think creatively is to teach them how to adapt, how to innovate in order to solve problems. It is something fundamental to how we approach the world, to have vulnerability and the humility to be receptive to the idea that one might be wrong which is liberating knowing that one has became more aware of our own thoughts. I strongly agree to these two speakers because it can be very life changing and useful in our everyday lives. Learning how we can break down the understanding of the way one thinks, than just using our thinking for memorization or what to think than how to think. I believe that critical thinking should be taught in schools because it will teach children so many things like ethics and how to understand and internalize the difference between right and wrong.
